JS Yoakum Excavation and Construction, LLC carries 3 unpaid Missouri judgments totaling $32,426.
If you are checking out a Yoakum before you hire one, start here. JS Yoakum Excavation and Construction, LLC is run by Jesse Yoakum, Jr. One of its judgments, in Clay County, was entered on four counts including fraudulent misrepresentation. As of July 27, 2026, none was recorded as paid.
His father, Jesse Alan Yoakum, runs Jesse Yoakum Well Drilling. It is a separate business with no customer judgments against it, and the two are easy to confuse: the son’s company has shown up to a job in a truck marked with the father’s business name.

Which Yoakum is which
There are three Yoakums in this record: a father and two of his sons. The father and one son run businesses that are easy to mix up. The other son runs his own company, and none of this is about him.
The son
Jesse Yoakum, Jr.
Also appears as Jesse Yoakum, and as Jesse Silas Yoakum in a Texas court filing and his Missouri DNR permit record.
JS Yoakum Excavation and Construction, LLC
- A Missouri LLC formed in 2007. This site is mostly about this business.
- 3 unpaid Missouri judgments totaling $32,426, including a Clay County judgment for fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Sued three times in Texas and once in Nevada.
- His Missouri well permit, number 004143, is inactive. The LLC holds no well permit.
The father
Jesse Alan Yoakum
Missouri's permit record lists him as Jesse Yoakum.
Jesse Yoakum Well Drilling
- A name he does business under, not a registered company. Its Missouri name registration expired in 2017.
- Holds Missouri DNR well permit 002231, active, and Kansas licence 595. USDOT 1187767.
- No customer judgments found. He is a defendant in two Cass County cases that have not been decided: a customer's fraud and breach of contract suit, and his insurer's suit to avoid covering it.
- The State of Missouri recorded employment security judgments against him in 1999 and 2000, and a tax lien against the business in 2011.
The other son
Matthew Yoakum
State records list him as Matty Yoakum.
Yoakum Well Drilling & Pump Co.
- Holds his own active Missouri DNR permit, 006317, and Kansas licence 1008.

Five things to know before you hire a Yoakum
- 1
The judgments are against the son's company.
3 unpaid Missouri judgments totaling $32,426 name JS Yoakum Excavation and Construction, LLC or Jesse Yoakum, Jr. A fourth, for $6,275 in 2022, names only “Jesse Yoakum” and could be either man, so it is not counted against either business.
- 2
The son's company shows up under the father's name.
On a 2024 well-plugging job in Grandview, the invoice and both payments went to JS Yoakum Excavation and Construction, LLC. The homeowner saw a truck marked Jesse Yoakum Well Drilling at the property, and the son's texts about the job relayed what “dad says.” Google's listing for Jesse Yoakum Well Drilling uses the son's street address. Before you pay anyone, get the exact business name in writing.
- 3
The son claimed a well drilling license. His own permit is inactive.
Two days before taking a $3,700 deposit in May 2024, the son texted that the state paperwork was “part of our well drilling license number.” Missouri DNR lists one well permit in his name, Jesse Silas Yoakum, number 004143, and it is inactive. It lists none for the LLC. The active permit, 002231, belongs to his father's business, and it is the number painted on the father's trucks.
- 4
Jesse Yoakum Well Drilling is not a registered company.
It is a name the father does business under. Missouri requires that kind of name to be registered with the Secretary of State. Jesse Alan Yoakum registered it twice, and the last registration expired in 2017. His DNR permit is still issued under it.
- 5
The father's business is in court too.
In 2025 a customer, George McCorkell, sued Jesse Alan Yoakum doing business as Jesse Yoakum Well Drilling, alleging fraudulent inducement and breach of contract over a well drilled in 2022. The son and his LLC are named in the same suit. The father's insurer then sued to avoid covering the claim. Neither case had been decided as of July 27, 2026.

In the court’s own words
“Defendants’ representations to Plaintiffs … were false, made knowinglyby Defendants, and constitute deception, fraud, false pretense, false promise, and misrepresentation…”JUDGMENT OF DEFAULT, ¶¶ 18–19

Seven Missouri cases, and which business each one names
Each one has a case number you can look up on Missouri Case.net. Each card shows whether a judge ruled or it is still an allegation, and which business the filing names.

Names JS Yoakum Excavation and Construction, LLC (the son)
A court found the statements made to this couple were false and made knowingly.
A Clay County homeowner couple contracted with the defendants in March 2023 to install a 119-gallon pressure tank for $1,650.00, and again in August 2024 to install a larger pump for $3,750.00. The court found the work was substandard and not performed in a workmanlike manner, that the installed tank burst and flooded the basement, and that the defendants’ representations were knowingly false. This is the only matter in this record that has reached a final money judgment.

Names “Jesse Yoakum” only, could be either
The earliest judgment on this list is from 2022, and it has not been paid either.
A rent-to-own trailer company obtained a judgment against Jesse Yoakum in Cass County in March 2022. This site holds only the Case.net judgment record, not the underlying petition, so it makes no claim about what the dispute was about. What the record does establish is the date, the amount, that it was entered by default, and that it has never been satisfied. It is the earliest of three unpaid judgments documented here.

Names JS Yoakum Excavation and Construction, LLC (the son)
The largest judgment is $17,544.19, accruing 9% interest since March 2023.
EquipmentShare.com Inc., a construction equipment company, obtained judgment in Boone County against both the excavation LLC and Jesse Yoakum personally. This site holds the Case.net judgment record but not the underlying petition, so it makes no claim about the nature of the dispute. Unlike three of the other judgments here, the record does not state that this one was entered by default. What it does establish is the amount, the date, the 9% interest, and that more than three years later nothing has been paid.

Names Father and son, named separately
A customer sued father and son on eight counts, including fraudulent inducement, over a well drilled 205 feet deep.
A Newton County, Missouri resident sued all three Yoakum defendants in Cass County. The petition pleads eight counts: four against the father's business, Jesse Yoakum Well Drilling, and four against the son's LLC and Jesse Yoakum, Jr. They include the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, fraudulent inducement to contract, and unjust enrichment. The petition states that the defendants were engaged in the business of drilling water and ground source wells in both Missouri and Kansas. As of the most recent filing obtained for this site, the plaintiff had moved for an interlocutory order of default. No ruling on that motion has been obtained.

Names “Jesse Yoakum” only, could be either
His brother says he signed a settlement in front of a mediator, then refused to sign the final agreement.
A civil dispute between two brothers over real property and mineral rights. It is included here for one narrow reason: it is a public court record in which a party alleges the same sequence the consumer cases describe: an agreement reached, signed, and then not honored. Matthew Yoakum is the plaintiff here. He is the one who signed the settlement and went to court to enforce it. He runs a separate business, holds his own Kansas licence, and nothing anywhere on this site is about him. Every statement on this page is an unproven allegation from a filed motion.
